Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to the information you share when you join a thread, post a batch note or send us a message. It covers the forum, the contact form and the small amount of technical data our hosting and analytics tools record.

What we collect

Account details you type in yourself: display name, email address, hair type and the region you mix in. Plus the content you publish, such as recipe ratios, shelf-life notes, batch photos and replies in threads. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your name, email, phone number if you add one, and the message body.

Technical data and cookies

Our servers log IP address, browser and device type, referring page and timestamps. We use cookies for staying signed in, remembering your thread preferences and measuring which recipe posts get read. Analytics events are aggregated; they tell us a page was opened, not who opened it. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though sign-in will stop working.

Why we process it

To run the forum, keep spam and off-topic posts out, match new members with a starter recipe, answer support mail and understand which ingredient threads need moderation. We do not sell member data, and we do not use your posts to build advertising profiles.

Sharing and processors

Limited third parties handle the plumbing: our hosting provider stores the database, an email service delivers notifications, an analytics tool counts visits, and a form provider passes contact messages to our inbox. They act on our instructions and are bound by their own data agreements. We disclose information if a lawful request requires it.

Retention

Thread posts stay visible while your account is active, because other members rely on old ratios and troubleshooting replies. Contact messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Server logs roll off after ninety days. Close your account and we remove your profile details; published posts remain but are no longer linked to your name.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct anything wrong, request deletion, or receive your posts in a portable file. You may withdraw consent for analytics and non-essential cookies at any time without losing forum access. Members in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and California residents under the CCPA, including the right to opt out of any sharing. Write to us and we respond within thirty days.

Privacy requests and honest claims

Send access, correction or deletion requests to the details below. We do not run fake urgency, invented endorsements or borrowed brand names, and we make no guaranteed results about any recipe shared here. Recipes are member experience, not medical advice. If a claim on the site looks misleading, tell us and we will review it.
